PodChatLive is a weekly live show for ongoing learning of Podiatrists. The show is broadcast live on Facebook and after that is later added to You tube. Each show features a different guest or group of guests to discuss a unique theme every time. Questions are replied to live by the hosts and guests during the livestream on Facebook. There's also a PodCast audio version of each show available on iTunes and Spotify as well as the other common podcast places. They have developed a substantial following that is increasing. The show can be considered one of the ways in which podiatrists are able to get free ongoing learning credits.
In the initial stream that began everything, it turned out totally improvised and a unexpected thing to do. One of the hosts, Craig Payne from Melbournein Australia found himself in England, UK for Two days whilst on the way home from conferences in Spain and Portugal without a lot to do. While there he dropped in at Ian Griffith’s home and while discussing after a meal they discovered none of them had ever streamed a Facebook Live so they decided to try it to see what goes on. They did a livestream chat from Ian’s house. Inspite of the quite “amateur” and absolutely “unrehearsed” character of the live stream, it was met with incredibly good comments and so they got some deep thinking requests through the live. So that they started wondering if there was some mileage in doing a thing like this more regularly. And thus a regular show was born to eventually be known as PodChatLive. In this PodChatLive, Craig talks about and reveals which has been the research paper that modified his beliefs probably the most, and they also chat about junk science, pseudoscience, research translation. Some other topics come up were concerns on what is erroneous with cuboid syndrome – we all know it when we see it, however its hard to define. In addition, they talked about Craig’s most liked international airport to have breakfast in.
